Showing one unread text message even though all have been read and even deleted

The stock text message app keeps showing that there's one unread message on the app icon even though there are none. Anyone else experiencing this problem or know of a fix for it?

I get it from time to time too. Sometimes I just wait it out or even a reboot will fix it. Other times I have to go to settings - apps - all, and wipe data in the text messaging app. Doing this may delete saved messages though.

Hello.. I had this problem and the solution was: Goto Settings-> Application Manager -> All application -> Search for 'BadgeProvider'
Select it and 'Clear Data'.
You need to restart your phone after clearing the data.
This should resolve your issue.
