I'm trying to understand the benefits of overclocking. I am power user on a rooted droid2. Any thoughts? Will I really gain anything? I'm more concerned about battery life than increasing speed.

Overclocking will def increase your speed and hurt your battery. So if you're concerned with battery and not speed you want to do the opposite and underclock.

Sorry I was not completely clear. I guess I am asking if I should mess with the clocking at all. Will I see any real benefits beyond how the D2 manages could nativley?

And when you overclock things will smooth out. It's not as dramatic as it was on the D1 but there is a noticeable speed boost and smoothness increase. :)
