    Uh, no. Amazon is not "tax free." In fact, if you purchase directly from Amazon you'll be charged sales tax based on the state in which you live. If you purchase from another merchant that participates in the Amazon online website you may or may not be charged sales tax depending on where the merchant is located and where you are located. In most cases, if you purchase a product from a merchant located in your state you'll be charged sales tax. And the sales tax will not be .095%. It will be whatever is the sales tax charged by the state.

    I've never had to pay tax on Amazon, but yes I forgot that different states have different tax rates.

    ive never been charged tax online, unless the retailer has a retail location in my state
