This may have already been discussed...Curious to see what others are doing.

I just went with my gut and had these settings. One thing I notice on these setting is a lag when the phone wakes up during an inbound call. Thinking about going to 550/550 during stand-by.

    I am set at 1GHz / 250MHz

    My SetCPU profiles are:

    Charging: 1GHz / 250MHz
    Sleep/Standby: 550MHz / 250MHz
    Power<20%: 550MHz / 250MHz
    Battery>41C: 550MHz / 250MHz

By slowing it down during charge, it will charge faster. That is the only thing that I have noticed.

    I am set at 1.1GHz / 250MHz

    My SetCPU profiles are:

    Charging: 550MHz / 250MHz
    Sleep/Standby: 250MHz / 250MHz
    Power<40%: 550MHz / 250MHz
    Battery>40C: 550MHz / 550MHz

Those are the same specs that I use and have never had a problem coming out of stand-by when receiving an inbound call.

    Mvezz...thanks for the research!

GN...so your Call screen pops up on the first ring? It seems mine takes 2 to 2.5 rings to get the screen up. Wondering if this is normal and I am being impatient.

    Sleep/Standby: 550MHz / 250MHz
    Power<100%: 1GHz / 250MHz
    Battery>40C: 550MHz / 250MHz

250mhz for me was way too low for sleep. I noticed a lag.

i'm not noticing much lag if any. maybe, just maybe, there's a second or two delay after i wake up the phone but nothing that's really noticeable. doesn't seem to impact incoming calls or any other notifications either that happen during sleep/standby either.

maybe running fewer profiles has less of an impact overall?

haven't really monitored battery life to see if it's making a difference running at 250 while sleep/standby, but i'd like to think it is. lol...

So real quick. As I read it, and I can be off, "Power<100%" means if there's less than 100% battery charge, then set CPU at 1Ghz. Seems kind of useless.

Then, sleep/standby... wouldn't that be low as there's not a whole lot being asked of it? And is that when you shut the display off by clicking the power button?

you can change the power level to what ever you like. you don't have to leave it at 100%. i have mine set to power <25%.

    Normal 800Mhz-300Mhz
    Charging 1.25Ghz-150Mhz
    Battery >25% 550Mhz-150Mhz
makes the most sense to me

I just rooted and downloaded the setcpu but I think I have different settings than most everyone else. has setcpu altered their app? Or does it depend on what rom you are running. (still running stock 2.2)

SetCPU depends on what kernel you're using.

Here is my setup, and if your wondering why i have the screen off priority at 100% and temp and 90% is because the phone is going to cool off even faster with the screen off.

I am running stock froyo on Motorola Droid.

    Charging/Full 800/250 ondemand
    Temp 42 degrees 500/125 ondemand
    Screen off 500/125 ondemand
    Battery 42% 600/250 ondemand

I just set these so I am not sure how well they work but I know I had to increase screen off because there was a major delay when I got a phone call and my phone was off. Any recommendations to these changes?

Just as a baseline what are the settings on a completely stock droid running 2.2? Or does it even change the clock rate?

I only use one profile and that is

    Screen off/ max 250 / min 250 powersave

This bump batterylife by 10 to 20%
I can turn screen off when slepping and wake up with same amount of battery as when I feel a sleep

I personally don't like using battery % filters, what's the point of overclocking my phone if I only get the benefit a small fraction of the time? Instead, I pick a moderate speed (1000 MHz) and only use screen/temperature filters.

    Temp > 35c 800/250
    Temp > 40c 550/250
    Temp > 45c 400/250
    Screen off: 400/250

I used to only use screen off and battery % and my temp would sometimes approach 45c which is bad for the phone and makes sweaty hands. With this, I almost never see temps above 36c, but I keep the tighter filters in place because it does tend to heat up more in the car dock (direct sunlight, charging, navigating, and playing music). Low temperatures seem to be good for overall battery life too :)
