setCPU not compatible with some phones?

Hey all,

I've been rooted and oc'd for a long time now with no issues...but my buddy is newly rooted and having big issues with setCPU.

He can install ROMs & themes just fine...but whenever he opens setCPU his droid immediately jumps into a reboot loop and/or freezes.

I told him to wipe data/cache, try different kernels, & reinstall setCPU, but none of this has helped.

Any suggestions?

I think some other users reported some problems with SetCPU.. there's another app on the market that will allow you to set speeds, it just doesn't have all of the options that SetCPU has.. Never used it, but I've heard about it. Check out OverclockWidget
