set search engine locked to google

Hello, i have posted this thread to get advice. My android 4.2.2 (jelly bean) has a locked setting. This occurs at the "set search engine" option. The button is fixed and cannot at current be changed. Is there an application or modification that can be used to rectify this. I have rooted this phone.
