separate notifications for separate email accouts problem

I just received my droid x today and have been trying to set separate notifications for separate email accounts. my problem is my default notification will not let me switch my other email account notifications. every time I switch a notification for certain email account and close out to the main screen as soon as I get a email or go back into the settings for that certain email account the notification I changed is instead sent to the default notification. is there a way to go around the problem or an application from the market to download that will solve my problem?
