When I think of Sears, I think Craftsman, appliances galore, TVs, tires, shoes, but not cell phones. Sears is trying to change our way of thinking by selling the Motorola Droid for $149 without the need of a rebate, the lowest price I've seen. Way to go Sears! Visit: SearsWireless.com for more information.

Has anyone had any experience with Sears porting a number to Verizon?

It appears that the Sears website is just a storefront for wirefly.com. If you go to wirefly.com, you will find the same deal. You actually can't beat the wirefly.com deal since the price is $150 with instant rebate.

Can never have too many retailers I guess - Walmart, Sears, BestBuy pretty soon we'll see em at gas stations. The more the merrier.

Too bad that lower price only comes with the more expensive monthly plan.

doesn't look like it... i signed up for the $39.99 "nation 450" plan with a $30 "unlimited data" (really means 5gb) option and everything went through ok... or are there even lower plans? the only other option i saw was the 79.99 "nation 450 for PDA" but that's just a combination of the above to for $10 more...

no tax to san francisco, ca either and free shipping... awesome deal imho :icon_ banana:

Does VZW offer a price match? I don't see why they wouldn't.

I would imagine the Verizon stores would match the prices of other places such as Sears. Typically you need to just bring in the Paper Ad itself, in full ( no missing pages ), and just make sure that the ad itself and the date are easily viewable on it so there are no questions.

Thanks for mentioning that. I didn't even see those tiny links that let you change the plan.

Like most traditional stores, you need to adapt to the times or go out of business like Woolworth's, Belk's, and others.

Man, I'm so jealous of everyone that has a Droid right now. I hope Motorola brings this phone to Canada very soon.

Verizon does not price match. The problem getting a phone from these indirect dealers is when you have a problem, you have to go back to them within the first 30 days. So say you buy the thing in TX and travel away and need to get a replacement cause your's is fried. You're out of luck because you bought from some dealer who just wants you activation for commission, but has no clue how to do customer service. I've seen this a lot from customers I have helped while working for VZW. I don't work on commission, but it sure sucks to have to tell a customer they must ship their phone back to the agent they bought it from to get an exchange. You may pay $50 more, but you will get personal service

Sheesh, I bought mine today for an undisclosable price, lets just say I did the new every two deal and got a few extra options, and I still have to mail in the rebate to get $100 bucks back and that doesn't even come close to that $150!!! One more thing, did anyone else who went to the Verizon store to get the Droid get the coverage from verizon that for $40 in case you screw up R2-D2 (the droid) will get you a brand new one? just curious

Got mine at a Best Buy for $149.99 out the door. Did not have to wait for rebates. Other Best Buys would not budge from $199.99 - it depends on the manager.
