First, please don't flame me, I am sure that this thread has been done alot but I have read MANY and can't find what I need.....

I have a few questions.. I loaded everything except I didn't run the SDK.exe file, does this need to be done? I opened it but didn't download anything. If it is needed, what do I need to download?

I put the path into my variables table.. ;C:\android\tools\

Next. I went to cmd, typed in adb shell (enter) and got the #, is this right?

I tried to cd to the tools directory with this.. cd \android\tools\ does this look correct? I am reading alot of threads where people are using forward slash and some are using back slash, which is correct?

This is my first time with SDK (as I am sure you can tell!!!) thanks for any help you can give me!!! And sorry if this is repeatative!!

If you got this (Next. I went to cmd, typed in adb shell (enter) and got the #, is this right?) then everything seems to be hooked up right.

yeah, thats what I got but when I tried to cd to tools (trying to install busybox) I typed cd \android\tools\ and got an error message saying that I could not chage directories ... androidtools (all one word).... ever see anything like this? I also had to install another update for something else and when my laptop rebooted, the motorola drivers installed then... maybe that was the problem but the code I was using hasn't even connected to the phone at that time has it??

The reason I am doing this is so that I can use adb. I have read that it is a very good way to load files and retrieve files from the droid. Do you guys think this is true?

I read about scripts and things of that nature and having to use adb. Can it also be done on terminal emulator?
