SD Storage Issue-Droid X

I previously had a plain old Droid. I used the SD card as my computer data backup and it worked great. My X has twice the storage capacity but I can't seem to use it. I had already transferred about 2GB of my 16GB available. I tried to add my pst file (Outlook data) of about 7GB and it won't try - a message appears telling me there isn't enough of space available. Anyone have a clue why and how to get around the issue????????

seven plus two equals nine...my guess would be you are transferring to the internal storage which is only 8GB instead of the SD card which is 16GB
