SD card corruption

I had miui on my phone and now my SD card is corrupt. Got a new SD card and loaded miui again, and within 10 hours my SD card is corrupt. Can I fix this. Can my phone run miui?

Edit: I formatted my old sd card, but it still won't work in my phone. My phone keeps saying blank external card and asks to reformat it. When I reformat it nothing happens, and the same message pops back up. How do I get my SD card to work now?

I took my wife's and my SD card out and made a backup on the labtop today because of people saying sds were crashing. Had an adapter for it, when I went to put hers back in, it kept saying it was bad, so I formatted it then put back in labtop and put things back on it and now its working fine back in the phone. Mine never acted up at all.
