I have 4.7 and I tried to delete launcher 2 and other couple apps but I can't do it. My phone just stops after I press delete and that pop up stays there. If I press any button or touch screen force close, wait, report pop up wo?? Show up. I reflashed the rom re booted and everything. Any suggestions?

The only reason it will not return like that is if it is blocking for some reason making the /system partition read-only again.

Open up a terminal, and type:

    su
    mvl2 -d

Tell me the output of the last command

I am having this same problem, and I've tried a number of things to get it working.

    Code:
    Deleting Launcher2 ...

    Success

However, I never get a prompt back. It seems like the process is hanging or looping after showing Success.

So you see that little msg pop up, but Settings locks up? That popup is your indication that it SHOULD be done ...

Uh, no. Sorry for the confusion. But when I run the command manually, I see "Success" but the prompt never returns. And the app is still listed...

@steveff4 even after deleting the launcher, the option will still be listed.

OK - so from a terminal, you type it in, you see success, but it never returns to the '#' prompt

That means it's hanging trying to set the system to read-only - and I have no idea why it would be doing that.

That being said - the app should no longer show in the applications list, but in Tools, it will still show (so you can resurrect it if you want)

I just tried to delete Twitter and the Dev Tools and both worked fine. Deleting Facebook and Launcher2 ends up with a prompt to FC, wait, or report.

But, as you said, the apps are no longer listed, so...

How long did you wait for Launcher2? If you didn't wait 15 seconds, and you touched the screen ... you would see that. It takes about 15 seconds to delete (technically move) the apk to your sdcard - it's large.
