Screen Timout Issue

For some unknown reason, my screen remains on despite having set timeout settings while on AC power. Manually pressing the power button shuts down the screen, but it will not go off automatically.

Any ideas as to how to return the screen to timeout correctly? Thanks.

If you plug your phone into the AC adapter and look at the dropdown menu there is an option to keep phone awake or something like that. Turning it off may fix your problem. I always recommend people turn it off because the phone charges MUCH faster with it off.

Thank you, I stumbled upon the answer last night. I went to Settings - Applications - Development - deselected Stay Awake.
(also mock locations and USB debugging while I was at it)

You should leave USB Debugging checked if you ever connect your phone to the computer to transfer files.
