Hello All - I've had my Droid for awhile now and I joined the Rooting crowd earlier this year. I've run all the overclock kernels without a problem (usually the highest one 1250mhz).

Recently I've noticed my screen starting to tear a lot. Where I'm dialing on the key pad and a few of the numbers will have screen tearing on them, or I go to minimize something and it leaves behind a ton of screen tearing.

This only started happening this week. Is this a result of overclocking? Or my screen going bad?

Your screen is tearing? Like tear that down? I can't even picture what you're talking about. It's a glass screen how can it tear?

Sorry, I can't seem to get a picture because every time I pull down the notification window for drocap it causes it to go away. But picture the dial pad -- and you're hitting numbers and all of a sudden the last row of keys has white lines through them. This happens sometimes when changing from window to window too - a ton of thin white lines across the screen. But it goes away if you go to another screen or open something else up.

It doesn't happen all the time - just a few times over the last week. Figured maybe my phone wasn't liking the 1250 slayer kernel all of a sudden or something.

I was having the same priblem as hook. I didnt know if it was tear (this thing down), or tear (in my beer). You just have to love the English language sometimes. Have you tried to reboot and see if it goes away? It could be a lag or a redraw problem.
What ROM and launcher are you using? Are you using a task killer?

I haven't heard that one. I'd do a factory data reset and attempt to fix it. If that doesn't work exercise your warranty. If it's still good, I mean.

Running FRG22D by Pete but was having this problem on BB.5 too - so I'm thinking it's Kernel related. No task killers and default launcher2. Am running SetCPU with the 125-1250mhz slayer kernel. Again this doesn't happen frequently but it's becoming more noticeable.

    Thanks for your suggestions.

I'd give another ROM and a kernel a try. If you can eliminate both of those as causes, I would take a trip back to Verizon.
