Have you received a message about a system update to your phone in the past few days? Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich, or ICS for short) has just been released for the RAZR/MAXX, and you must have that version running on your phone in order to take screenshots by pressing the power button and the volume down button. An easy way to tell if you're running the newest version is by the color of the clock in the top right hand corner - if it's blue, you're on the new software. If it's not, you're on the old software.

Go to Settings -> About phone -> System updates.

Keep in mind that this is a major update. Depending on your internet speed, it can take awhile to download, and it can take a little bit of time to install. You'll need to have a good internet connection and have your battery close to being fully charged before updating.
