Screen on while charging.

My old Droid 1 finally busted (the charging port) and I just received my replacement. Luckily I had insurance. But there is one difference with this one. When it's charging the screen times out and goes black. My old one would stay on and I liked that better. I searched through settings to try and change it but can't find where. Any help?

The first night i had my phone i plugged it in to charge while the screen was on and i set it to never time out so it was "on" all night. It was burning hot in the morning when i got it, so fair warning. The screen also gets very hot when playing a game for ~30 mins or so.
