Ok, I'll start by saying that I searched and didn't find a straight answer.
I was wondering, since the Droid has been rooted, can you now save the apps to the micro sd card? If so, what root do I do or is it a ROM, or what? Thanks for your help!

    edit: btw, I'm an "app-whore".

You don't need to be rooted to save apps to the SD card. Only if you want to run apps from the SD card. To save your apps just download astro file manager. Also there is not a huge need to run apps from the SD card, as android does allow apps to store most of their resources on the SD card anyways. Plus you really need at least a class 4 SD card or it would be extremely slow.

there are no a2sd roms (or mods) out yet for the droid.

actually the only rom out is 2.1 i believe, which is just a stock rom modified to run on droid.

when a2sd is out, im sure it will be all over the web

I believe Astro File Manager can save the apps to SD Card. Within Astro file the Tools button and select Application Manager/Backup. Then you can choose what apps to back up.

That will back up the apps to the sdcard, so that if you hafta do a wipe, or if you install a rom, you can install from the sdcard instead of the market. The apps will not run from the sdcard, they will only be backed up. We have to wait for a2sd to be developed for the droid, it involves creating a special partition on the sdcard.

a2sd -- although sexy -- sounds like a good way to burn out the sdcard.
