Samsung Trademarks Galaxy Wear Name, Hinting at Future Android Wear Smartwatch

    Samsung has always been the master at "hedging their bets." They are proving this yet again with a new trademark filing for the name Galaxy Wear. This is obviously meant to be a smartwatch (or other wearable device) which will utilize Google's Android Wear OS. If Samsung eventually creates a product out of this trademark, it means they could be competing with their own Tizen OS now on their Galaxy Gear series of products.

    The was submitted on May 28th, and was accompanied by the pic you see above. Industry folks are speculating that Samsung's Gear Wear might just be a "round-face" style watch, like the Moto 360. This would allow them to cover two different angles of the wearables market.
