Just like any good technology company, Samsung is teasing us with potential future ideas. Their latest tease is a future smartphone with retinal scanner tech built in.

Obviously it's now in Samsung's plans to bring this technology to smartphones, but the question is, how soon will they be able to do so. Some websites are speculating that it could be as soon as the next Galaxy device, but we find that unlikely. Perhaps a Galaxy S7 maybe, but it is unlikely this tech will be useable in a miniaturized form for mobile tech as early as next year.

What do you guys think? How soon would you expect to see reliably secure and accurate retinal scanners in mobile devices?

I guess it depends on how well it works. I used the face unlock feature on my Note 3 for a while and ended up turning it off because it got annoying how often it got it wrong because of lighting. I grew a beard and had to start it all over again, then I shaved and regrew it. It was just easier to use a pin or pattern. If I can set the retinal unlock to be specific to an app, that would be nice.
