According to this supposedly leaked circuit board picture, Samsung is making some internal changes to the Galaxy Note 5. Since the phone was launched, it had a mildly annoying design flaw that would allow the S-Pen to get stuck inside its holder if the user inserted it backwards by mistake. While Samsung did change their packaging to provide a warning for folks who skip reading the manual, it looks like they decided to take things a step further and just fix the problem on the circuit board.

What you can see in the image is that the circuit board on the left has a new clip which is meant to hold the S-Pen inside the Note 5 case. This new clip design basically allows the S-Pen to be removed even if you accidentally put it in backwards. The fact that they are doing this for the Note 5 is good news for future owners, but doesn't really help folks who already purchased one with the design flaw. Still, it does bode well for the Galaxy Note 6, because it means Sammy took the issue seriously enough to fix it.

Thanks dgstorm! Good news but it seems it would have been easier for Sammy to redesign the pen so that the click pen top was slightly bigger than the slot, making it impossible to put it in backwards.

Kinda seems crazy to me that they'd do this so late in the device's life. You'd kinda think they'd cut their losses on this issue with this device and make sure to design the next iteration of the device to prevent this.
