Here's an odd pairing of Samsung Galaxy S7 camera rumors. Two different camera reports basically contradict each other. The first rumor indicates that Samsung is planning on using their own Isocell image sensor for their next flagship, although the rumor shared that Samsung plans to increase the sensor light cell size to improve camera performance. Strangely, this camera sensor is speculated to only be a 12MP (mega-pixel) sensor as opposed to the 16MP found in Sammy's Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+.

Here's where things turn... The second rumor suggests that Samsung plans on using Sony's latest Exmor RS IMX300 image sensor. This is the same sensor found in the Sony Xperia Z5 and includes some very high-end features for a camera smartphone. These include a 25-megapixel resolution and a very fast 192-point hybrid autofocus system. This sensor is currently number 1 on the DxOMark Camera benchmark list.

Either option sounds plausible to us. It could even be that Samsung might use two different sensors in two different markets. After all, they frequently do that with the main processor for their flagships... why not the camera? We will obviously just need to wait and see to find out the whole truth. If the rumored January reveal date is true, we won't have to wait too long as the year is winding down quickly.
