[Update: We just now received the full press release directly from Samsung regarding availability of the Galaxy Note Edge on all major US carriers. Not all of the details are specific, but at least it will come to all the carriers in limited quantities. We have included the full press release from Samsung in the thread below.]

The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge will be hitting US retail shelves on November 7th, at least at AT&T anyway. The bleeding edge new phablet has the same internal specs of the Galaxy Note 4, yet has the "upgraded" YOUM Edge side-wrap style display.

It's meant to be a fairly limited edition premium device owing to its more advanced tech, so it is quite a bit pricier than the vanilla Note 4. Here' are its various prices on AT&T:

On a new, two-year contract the phone is $399.99, while AT&T Next subscribers can get it for $39.42 per month on Next 18 or $47.30 on Next 12. Finally, if you want to buy it outright, it will wrangle your wallet for a whopping $945.99.

Even though it is showing up on AT&T first, it isn't going to be an AT&T exclusive; they were simply the first to report it. Here's the AT&T presser link: The Next Big Thing From Samsung Arrives Nov. 7 in Select AT T Stores AT T

Here's that Sammy press release for the Galaxy Note Edge:

Samsung introduces a stunning new smartphone design with a curved edge display

DALLAS-Samsung Telecommunications America, LLC (Samsung) today announced that the Galaxy Note® Edge will be available in the U.S. beginning Nov. 14. The Galaxy Note Edge is the first smartphone of its kind with a functional, curved display for interruption-free notifications.

The 5.6-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED® screen has a high resolution with more pixels, making the display sharper, brighter and more immersive than ever. The Galaxy Note Edge delivers unique smartphone experiences with a scrollable screen that wraps around the right edge of the device, extending the screen with room to do and see more. The Edge screen gives access to email, Internet, apps, notifications, news and more without interrupting the content on the main screen. Night clock mode dimly displays the time, alarm and weather and is easily viewable when the Galaxy Note Edge is placed bedside. Consumers can customize the scrollable Edge menu panel with their favorite apps for quick access; the apps are always available, from any screen.

The Galaxy Note Edge is also equipped with all the advanced features of the new Galaxy Note 4, including:

· A 16 MP rear-facing camera with 8x digital zoom and Optical Image Stabilization for decreased photo blurriness, and a 3.7 megapixel front facing camera with a wide angle lens that captures more friends and fun in the frame.

· The S Pen™ is more precise than ever before and handwriting is more natural when interacting with the phone. With mouse-like functionality you can cut and paste, drag and drop, and do more than before.

· Samsung’s unique Multi Window™1 feature allows consumers to interact with multiple apps simultaneously. Users can resize windows and seamlessly drag and drop content between apps for added convenience and enhanced productivity.

· The fastest charging available on a Samsung phone and power-saving solutions. Adaptive Fast Charging2 can charge a battery up to 50% in about 30 minutes for added power in a hurry. Ultra Power Saving Mode increases standby time up to 24 hours on only 10% of battery life, offering more battery power when users need it most.

The Galaxy Note Edge also features Samsung’s KnoxTM 3 security platform for Android, offering comprehensive mobile solutions for both work and play by separating personal and work data on one device. Knox meets the strict security requirements of regulated industries and government agencies. Knox addresses the market gap to provide enterprise- and consumer-friendly devices to businesses and their employees. Samsung is meeting the need by making Android the number one choice for a secure and cost-effective platform for business use.

The Galaxy Note Edge will be available in Charcoal Black and Frost White. AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless and U.S. Cellular will carry the Galaxy Note Edge. Samsung Experience Shops in Best Buy will also carry the device. Carriers and retail partners will confirm specific pricing, availability and specs.

Galaxy Note Edge accessories will include a Wallet Flip Cover in Charcoal Black and Frost White and power solution options including a Wireless Charging Battery Cover and spare battery charging system.

$946. I have been waiting for this phone since they revealed the YOUM display at CES 2012? 2013?

Not at this price.

946 off contact, and we thought the nexus 6 was expensive.

Price doesn't surprise me at all.

Sammy set this up when they stated that it would be a "Limited Edition" device. Glad I didn't hold out for it, because I'd be placing my order for a regular Note 4 today, rather than already having it all setup in my pocket.

Neat concept, but if devs don't jump on that side screen, I fear you'll be left with the few apps that support it out of the box and maybe a few more from Samsung down the road. I could be wrong, but I don't see a lot of devs baking functionality for it into their apps with only one limited release device that can take advantage of it. I think it'll be up to Samsung to create some sort of software workaround for the edge screen to be any more useful than it is right now.

Gonna be interesting to watch the numbers on this one though and see how this concept affects the general market as far as design goes...

With their reports of earnings and statement that they'll be making changes in their mobile division, especially.

If you are using the Next program to upgrade it isn't really a big deal. I pay full price for my phones and 32GBs at that price point is ridiculous.

$946.

Not at this price.
Ditto. Almost a grand for a phone? T-Mobile doesn't do contract pricing and no way am I going to pay that price for something I don't need anyway.
Really disappointed as I was really looking forward to getting that phone.

With that off-contract price of $946 from AT&T, everyone should keep in mind that AT&T has really been jacking up their off-contract prices as of late. The Note 4 runs $825.99 off-contract at AT&T, while it's $699.99 at Verizon.

I still think this will be a more expensive than usual device everywhere, but I'd expect Verizon's off-contract price point to be lower. If they have it on-contract for $399 like AT&T, I'd expect a $799 off-contract price at Verizon.

I'm really anxious to get my hands on one of these. A lot of people are screaming "gimmick," but I can see a lot of ways in which it could be very useful. For instance, I love the positioning of the camera controls off the main screen.

This is the phone that I want. That price though...it shouldn't be 32GB.

My wife said I should sell my 128gb i6+ and buy this one instead.

I think whether it's a gimmick really depends on whether devs support it. They've baked nice nice features in, but if that's as far as it goes...
