Originally, this behemoth device was only available in Asian and European markets. Now, however, the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 will be coming to the United States. It was just officially announced for AT&T, Sprint & US Cellular. Here's a breakdown of specs for this monster device,
    • 6.3 inch display with 1280 x 720 pixels
    • Android 4.2 Jelly Bean (upgradeable to 4.3)
    • LTE connectivity
    • NFC
    • 8MP rear camera with LED flash
    • 1.9MP front-facing camera
    • Dual-core Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.7GHz
    • 1.5GB of RAM
    • 8GB / 16GB of expandable memory
Sound off what you guys think of the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3. Is it too big, or are you a fan of the gigantor phablet devices?

    Here's the full presser:

If they sold this as a wi-fi only tablet for $200 I'd buy it. However, I don't think it's going to appeal to many as a phone though. The high power people will just scoff at the specs and the everyday people will think it's too big, which it is for a phone IMO.

If I didn't already have the Galaxy Note 2, with it's 5.5 inch screen, I'd be looking at this item with some glee... however, as I've stated in other posts, the Note 2 is perfect for me. I have at least another year on my contract, and I fully expect the Note 2 to meet my needs for that year--and beyond. I expect the Note 2, when my contract is up, to give me the luxury of making an unhurried choice as to whether or not to grab whatever the latest and greatest phone is available in the autumn of 2014. For example. I wouldn't switch, at the time, for the Mega 6.3. The main difference appears to be just screen size--and honestly, if I want anything bigger than the Note 2, I'd just buy a tablet. Which introduces a question I'll post as a new thread: what new features would it take to get you to upgrade? I'd have to think about that?

Yeah, besides the mid-range specs what's the excuse for so little storage in this phone? Not enough space? lol
