I tried to install safestrap onto my rooted D3 today and install a recovery. Everything went fine with the installation of safestrap but when I try to install a recovery it looks like it's running, but when it finishes it still says "Recovery State: Not Installed". Just to make sure that it wasn't a fluke I tried rebooting my phone and the safestrap screen didn't pop up at all. Does anyone have any ideas what my issue could be?

Did the app ask for root permissions when you opened it?

Have you updated superuser and the su binary?

Busybox installed and updated?

Could be one or all of these things.

Did you have D3 bootstrapper installed before this?

I don't believe that I did, and I checked the applications that I have installed and I didn't see it.

edit: The only thing I could think of that might cause this to not work properly is if safestrap puts the backup on an SD card since I don't have one at the moment.

Let me just throw this out there:

Hypothetically, if you did have Droid3Bootstrap installed on your phone once, you could still have a D3Bootstrap file on your phone, even if you deleted it from File Manager and the app is not in your list anymore.

That said, you'd probably know if you ever installed D3Bootstrap.

Have you tried simply uninstalling Safestrap and reinstalling it?

Yes I tried that as well, and I would say that I'm 95% sure that I never installed bootstrap

I believe that I found the answer to my problem. After finding hashcode's thread on safestrap here, it looks like the location of the safestrap backup is located at /sdcard/safestrap/backup. Since I don't have an SD card, that would explain why the backup isn't working!
