I searched forums about this and found nothing so I apologize if repetitive.

I'm wondering if uninstalling some of Android's stock apps will cause any problems. For example, i use Gmail and not the generic Email app so I want to uninstall it since it's always running (yes, I know Android is linux based and manages memory resources well, but I just don't want it running out of personal preference). I also don't use Google Talk, am not a fan of the stock Facebook app, not paying for visual VM, etc. Thanks for the help.

You can't uninstall the default apps, unless you root your phone.

yup, you can rename and hide your stock apps, or completely remove them if you are rooted.

Come on over and hang out on the hacking section. By the way, this is not hacking as in doing bad things and stealing peoples information. It involves modifying the phone to take advantage of it's full potential.
