S4 w/Lollipop AV playback issues

Greetings,

I have an S4 (AT&T) that recently upgraded to Lollipop from 4.4. Immediately after the upgrade, I was no longer able to watch any videos using apps like Flixter or Vudu.

Flixter will generally play the video, but never sound. Vudu, when it doesn't crash, will also play the video only, but no sound at all, even on trailers, etc.. from the site.

Doesn't make a difference whether I have headphones plugged in, or use the built in speaker.

Has anyone else noticed anything of this sort? I've uninstalled and reinstalled both, and even rebooted the phone, to no avail.

I would say a FDR is in order here. Sounds like the new OS is not playing nicely with old settings!

It is recommended to FDR after a MAJOR upgrade such as this! You can back everything up with Kies3 and then restore after the reset!

I'll give the reset a try, as you suggested. Thanks for the heads up!

As KoasMaster suggested, it may be time for a master reset. It's always best to do a hard reset after a major update, anyway. That said, be sure to backup all your important information beforehand.
