I know all the good things that you can do when you root your device.

But what are the bad things. I use the Charge and what is the bad things after rooting your device.

It voids the warranty, but...that's why there's insurance. Otherwise, there's nothing bad about it, unless you've not a clue what you're doing. That's the only time things go wrong.

Ya that's the problem. I really want to root my device since everybody is doing it but again I don't want my phone getting messed up.

Google the Linux sbf root for Droid 1, root it then you can always sbf back to stock! It's fantastic.

Relax, just make sure to read up on the guides and info. How to unroot info helps at that too. Besides, it's fairly hard to completely brick an android. There's usually some workaround you can pull out of nowhere.
