rooting with z4root

    If I use z4root on my droid 1 will I need to install any other apps with it like SPRecovery and rom manager.

    If you want to flash roms then yes. It really depends what you're looking to do.

    I would suggest ROM Manager to back up your current stock ROM and Titanium Backup to backup your applications and settings. Of course you don't have to but it gives a piece of mind and if you choose to flash a different ROM and it provides an easier path back to stock and to restore your applications and settings.

    I wouldn't trust ROM Manager to blow my nose into. I suggest root but don't do anything else in regards to ROM's until someone cracks the bootloader and we can use SPRecovery. I mean, someone's going to do it, I heard it was imminent - 3 months ago. :)
