Rooting with 2.2

Hey everyone,

First off, I am new to the android world, I got my Incredible about a month ago (fantastic phone, worlds better than my last BB Storm/Storm 2 nonsense). I am interested in rooting the phone specifically to kill the apps that are constantly running and to improve battery life. I also installed Froyo on the phone a couple of days ago Via Download, and am not sure where to even begin. If someone could just give me a very simple step by step with the 2.2 that would be phenomenal.

I don't believe it has been rooted yet, at least with the unrevoked tool.
