im using motos thread "rooting reguardless of os"

    in step 3 it says

Do not unzip the MotoCache1_Complete_Root_v1.1-update.zip file that you downloaded in Step 5 of "things you're going to need". You need to copy this file to the root of your phone's SD card and then rename it to update.zip.

how do i copy this file to my sd card and do i do this now or go to step 4 my english isnt good and i dont understand

i posted this in his thread but havent gotten a response yet so i figured maybe ill get a fast repsone here

if i just right lick it and click send to "e" drive is what i was gonna do but dont know if it is right...ps sorry for bad english

Just drag and drop into your SD card but not in any folders.

Sent from my phone... which happens to be a Droid X

    10. The SBF install goes fine, but when I go to apply the update.zip file in SPRecovery I get this error:
    E:Can't open /sdcard/update.zip
    (No such file or directory)
    Installation aborted.
Your update.zip file is not on your SD card or is named wrong. Read step #3 of the detailed procedure carefully. You've probably named the file update.zip.zip because Windows is configured to hide your file extensions.

For whatever reason some folks really struggle with this (I don't know why). If this is you, you could either try reconfiguring Windows not to hide file extensions (which I recommend), or you could use ADB to transfer your files (brief instructions here, use Google if that's not enough).

so im at this point now and getting this error message can i just unplug my usb and reconnect it then try to move the file correctly then click install/sdcard/update.zip (deprecated) on my phone cuz thats the screen its on now

you can mount your phone in recovery and edit the name with your computer.

and SPR wont read it unless its named update.zip
