I'm an experienced rooted Droid user and am very familiar with how everything works on my device. My buddy wants me to root his Droid X for him, but I'm not familiar with the X on this level. What are the essentials I need to get started? On my droid I use SPRecovery, run FRG22D deoxed, using the DarkEdge UI, so on and so forth. Don't wanna spend hours reading through these many helpful pages atm. Can anyone help me get started?

    Search for post
    Multiple phones root unroot
Use option 2 , very easy and can do it all right on the phone.

Sorry for taking so long to respond...

I'm not sure I'm finding the right post you're referring to. Could you share a link to it?

    Thanks!

I'm not at home right now. But if you type in the search box. Multiple phones root unroot. It will come up. I will post the link later

Thanks...those should be helpful! I haven't had a chance to learn up on the X yet and my friend isn't familiar with much rooting/hacking lingo.

Same thing that I thought. It was my first time rooting a phone, not counting easyroot on 2.1
I have now flashed the sbf and rerooted 3 different times, because of other issues when flashing from rom to rom.
