Did you install the proper drivers before trying to root?

Where'd you download the drivers from? I fell into some trouble with the drivers awhile back, spent a good couple hours figuring it out....

You have the right adb drivers?

edit: recommend you go and delete anything android related and anything samsung related drivers from your PC and start over.

Hey, make sure you have the fastboot.exe command it the tools folder of the android sdk. I had this same problem on my brothers nexus. Look on your nexus, on the bottom it SHOULD read fastboot status: OK or something to that effect. I don't know why it fixed my problem using wugfresh's toolkit...? But it did.
