Rooting DROIDX out of the box

I had to file a insurance claim because my droid x has been having hardware issues. So I'm getting a new DROIDX from Verizon and was wondering what's the best way to get root out of the box?

Should I turn the phone on and run z4root immediately? Or should I let the phone do all its updates first?

I don't think it matters, do it whichever way you want.

Out of the box should be up to date. I would just z4 to root install the leaked gb 4.5.588 (which is the latest) and enjoy!!
