This may seem to be an odd question but does rooting the droid affect the location services of the phone? For example, should my IP address be different location wise if I root my phone rather than if I dont? An IP site said that I am in NJ which is not even close to where I am. Can this be affect by the rooting process? If anyone has any idea, please let me know. Thanks!

Nope. However, sometimes your IP will get shifted drastically. My IP address often shows me as being in NYC and that's 7-8 hours from here, depending on what route and how much of a maniac you are on the road. :)
