Hello I was looking into rooting my droid x but don't want to lose all my progress in my apps. If I use the z4root will it wipe me out. I've had my x since they came out and would rather not start from scratch

Sent from my DROIDX using DroidForums App

Rooting will not affect anything other than you being rooted if that makes sense. Its basically flipping the switch on administrative access.

Don't mistake rooting with ROMing. Two very different procedures.

    :welcome: to the forum! :)

Welcome! Good to have you with us. If you root you will not lose any of your apps. All of your apps are associated with your Google account so when you reactive, after rooting, all of you apps will reinstall. If not, open the market app tap menu, tap downloads.

I believe that the X hacking section has a stickie that will help with rooting.
