This Thread can be removed.. I ended up rolling my phone back to 2.01 on accident. Don't ask it was my lack of focus and picking the correct file to load.

So I have been kicking the idea of rooting around since I got my phone and I think I am finally ready to take the step. However yesterday while things were slow at work I followed this guide
Manually Update Your Motorola Droid to Froyo (Android 2.2) | Android Phone Fans
I'm now wondering will following the SBF to root and unroot guide be the same? I'm also going to try out the Cyanogen rom as it was recommended by a few of my coworkers. I tried to search for an answer before posting, but couldn't find anything.

    Current System:
    Android Version: 2.2
    Basband version: c_01.43.01p
    Kernel v: android-build@apa26 #1
    Build number: FRG01B
