Titanium Backup in case you screw something up.

Otherwise it depends entirely on what phone you have and how you rooted.

Okay. Then either you need to follow link 2 in my signature, which you can't see since you're on the DF app, or follow some instructions from another thread. Which would you prefer? Totally on-phone or PC-based?

You should make a nandroid backup on your phone in case your phone has any problems. A Nandroid backup is a mirror image of your phone in its current state. It's like copying and pasting your intire operating system. You can do that via CM Recovery or SP Recovery which you have on your phone.

I make a Nandroid backup every time I make significant changes to my phone.

    Good Luck!

Clockworkmod recovery can be flashed with rom manager.

Sprecovery can be flashed from rom manager under " alternate recoveries."
