So my phone is rooted and running wireless tether and everything is working fine. I'm trying to use access control and I can't figure out how to make it work. I have it enabled, however it allows all connections through. From what I can read about it, it's supposed to ask for permission for a device trying to connect. Mine just allows all connections through. Please help me.

Did you set a password for the other devices to connect with?? I'm not sure if that would work though but you can try

everything works fine if i have wep on, but for some reason i can't set my netbook running windows starter to remember the network. so i have to type in the password every time i connect. supppper annoying when i'm at work. so i was trying to use access control so it would just allow connections to my netbook. i don't want to leave my tether unsecured at work so i'm trying to find a solution.

I really don't know then honestly....maybe try googling the app Wireless Tether for Root Users, there's a guide somewhere on it for devs that need it

And too, if your using an older ROM that had the Tethering app on it, I know that it wasn't working properly in exactly the areas your talking about....Access Control

The newer ROMs like BB 0.7.4 and Sholes ROM have these problems fixed and those features work properly.....if thats the case (if you're using an older ROM or something)
