Can confirm that the fast boot file works. I was very frustrated when I couldn't update to 748. Learned my lesson, staying stock/rooted until there is a REALLY good ROM that's built for Razr/ICS.

The fastboot files will take the device back to fresh out of the box state. Then you can update then reroot.

EDIT: Using RSD Lite. I only used 5.5 and 5.6. I don't know if older versions work.

EDIT: Also put the zip on the drive that RSD is installed on. On my setup here it failed every time when I had the zip on either of my two data drives. When I moved the zip to the root of my C drive it went perfect.

I had problems taking the upgrade as well. Did nothing but root, bootstrap, and CWM on boot. I flashed a stock ROM zip, got the update, cleared cache, factory reset, re-rooted, CoB again, restored data from backup, Viola.

What is with the 4 hour download time? Seriously? I see that it is a 1.1GB file, but four hours? Almost not even worth it.

Is that with 3g? It took about twenty minutes to download with 4G. It's amazing that you can download 1.1 gig files and not have problems on a phone.

2.3.6 ver 174 rooted with NO problems

I'm downloading on my computer. I assumed it had to go on my computer than I had to somehow flash it to my phone. I'm really new to rooting and such, so if you have any suggestions like downloading it directly from my phone, or something, else it would be greatly appreciated.

Via computer is much more preferred because typically internet connections are faster/more stable. But I have downloaded like five ROMs and the fastboot files via phone with absolutely no problems using 4g. Try your phone and see if it downloads faster.

Well it was the website that was lagging me. That filesharing website had slowed the download. I had RSD and fastboot DLed in a total of 18 minutes. So now I'm gonna search for some instruction on how to Flash to my phone. Wish me luck, it is my first time Flashing anything!
