I rooted today using DroidMod (very simple) now, I have a question or two. Any help would be great.

    1. Before I rooted I had the stock email app which I used for my non-Gmail accounts personal and work. Now that icon is gone and the only way I can get my work email is to use Touchdown, but, I cant get my personal my through it. Does anyone know how to get that stock app back?

    2. If I understand, DroidMod is a ROM, but, can I still use Bugless Beast if I wanted to now that I am rooted?

    3. Can I get some suggestions on some cool apps that are only out for rooted Droids?

I am overclocked to 800mhz, BTW.

    1. The email app is removed by default on the options on DroidMod. You need to reflash and make sure it is UNCHECKED when you get to that option and it will be there.

    2. Yes you can flash any ROM you want to.

    3. SetCPU, TempMonitor, Titanium Backup, AdFree, MetaMorph

    1. Download a terminal emulator on your phone, and do this EDIT ONLY WORKS IF THE EMAIL.BAK IS THE /SYSTEM/APPS FOLDER ON YOUR DEVICE, i forgot droidmod had the option during install so reflashing will fix this just make sure you don't star it in the remove section..

    su
    mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
    cd /system/app
    mv email.bak email.apk
    mount -o ro,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
    sync

May have to reboot for it to take full affect.
Also may want to check to make sure it is "email" or "Email" since it is case sensitive.

    2. yes, just download the nandroid backup for bugless beast and use nandroid to restore, i think bugless beast comes in a nandroid file.. but i could be wrong, just check the android rom fourms for complete installation steps, and you can install any rom that has been made for the droid, not just bugless beast and droidmod, browse around the android roms section and check some out..

    3. check out this thread..

also set cpu is a must either free if you register at xda developers or $1 in the market, also overclock widget works nice to show how fast ur CPU is currently running..

During the installation process of flashing DroidMod, you must have chose to remove the Email app...You know, the screen that asked what apps you wanted to remove lol?

    On that screen:

(*) means it WILL BE REMOVED
( ) means you will keep that app

You can just open the DMUpdater app and do it all over again...just choose to flash DM 1.0 again and DON'T select the Email app on that screen

As for other ROMs, yes you can flash any custom ROM as long as your rooted and have SPRecovery (DM gave you both)

But, the ONLY roms you can install using the DMUpdater app, are the DM roms

To flash other ROMs you will have to do manually

I thought the DroidDev team removed those apps completely? Like it totally deleted them if you didn't want them taking up space...

Thanks for the help everyone. I reflashed and got my mail back. I was nervous about rooting but with droidmod it was a snap.
