Rooted Motorola Droid - phone shuts off after taking pix

TParker76: Feel a little uncomfortable trying to do something I have never done before. Can you walk me through this? Before I install this, do I need to do a backup and if so, how do I do that?

D/L the Rom you like, put it on the root of your sdcard, rename it to update.zip (make sure it's update.zip not update.zip.zip XP-Vista hides file extensions by default) Boot into recovery (power on while holding x), Make a nandroid backup with the menus in SPR, then install, allow install, install (depreciated), reboot, enjoy
