Rooted droid 4 wont provide wifi tether ad hoc issues

Hello all,
This is my first time posting in here and I don't really know a whole lot about this stuff. I have rooted previous phones before with no problem and then normally I'll just download barnacle Wi-Fi and it always works. But for some reason, I rooted my Droid 4 earlier today, and downloaded many different tethering apps including barnacle and I can't get any of them to work. They all say that they are having problems with the ad hoc... now I'm not really sure what that is or how to fix it so can someone please point me in the right direction. I can provide more information if needed.

Hey I tried download sqlite and got all the way to the edit field part but when I deleted the 1 and put a 0 it gave me an error code 14, unable to open database file. Can you help me?
