Is it possibile to run ota updates on a rooted droid 2.1? I only rooted to gain access to wifi tether. Everything else is just like it was before i rooted. I have Rom manager premium and cyogenmod Kernels and thats it. Nothing else, I either have to unroot my phone or hopefully use OTA. I want to upgrade to the new 2.2 software... Rom manager says my rom isnt setup to recieve ota updates...

Also, if im not mistaken, can't i download 2.2 and upload it via sd card? Even though im still using rooted 2.1???

    Thanks for any help!

You can get OTA updates, but it is advisable to revert to stock 2.1 before doing so. When rooted users updated to 2.1, they were stuck with the SuperUser icon in their app drawer (the little ninja icon). No way to remove it either without root permissions ironically.
