Hey so I rooted with Petes motorola root tools, it rooted fine the first time then a few days later I noticed that the root wasnt working anymore. So I tried to root again and it said "adb could not be granted root access via local.prop method", then I tried to unroot and it says "adb could not be granted root access" So I am stuck with superuser in the app drawer but says not installed when I click on it, and no root any more. Help?

You should try the other method here: How To: Root your Motorola DROID Bionic

I've never used Pete's, only this other one, and I hear from time to time of people unable to root with Pete's.

There's a manual method p3 posted over at MDW as well.

Ok, so are we talking about the bionic here because you have the D2G phone listed I'm your sig. Also, if it is the bionic, there have been no updates yet but should be coming in a couple of weeks.

that was by no means official though - so he wouldn't have gotten that automatically

Ah ha, but that wasn't the official OTA update, you have to do a very risky hack which I'm not willing to take. I saw your post in that other section.

Ahhh gotcha, I thought there was an official and I missed news. I thought I needed forever root to get it without f'ing up. I don't see anything too risky about it if you follow directions, but with that being said I wouldn't recommend anyone trying it
