How do I get gtalk back on my device? I removed it by accident using root tools (don't ask).
Tried using root explorer and placing the talk.apk into system/app to no avail.

I just clicked on it. I've changed the permissions. Also looked up and saw that it needs gtalkservice.apk too and I have that in the directory too to no avail.

Just for future reference, I am trying out a different rom and some of the newer gmail, talk, carhome, etc. wouldn't install on my phone. I use SUFBS, but I'm sure you can do something similar with root explorer. Just mount the system as rw, then copy/move the desired app to /system/app instead of trying to use the 'install' function. Then unmount system, and reboot phone. Just did it and all works like a charm for me.
