Ok so I am rooted mainly to do some tething without the extra payment considering the minimal usage of it.

RUMOR has it Gingerbread will be comming out soon. I have not deleted any of the bloatware or installed any custom kernals or roms.

will I need to unroot to upgrade to Gingerbread or because I haven't did a full custom to the phone it will automatically update then re-root?

Thanks

I'm thinking yes you will have to unroot before update. And you will probably have to wait a short while to root it after due to someone figuring out how too.

I could be wrong but your probably gonna wanna make sure all your SU files are deleted. I'm not sure if z4root does that for you or not.

Or...
Don't allow the update and wait until a dev has a 2.3 ROM available.

2.2 with root is much better than 2.3 without. Just enjoy the custom roms and it wont take long after (or maybe even before if we're lucky) the OTA to get 2.3 roms with root.
