Root or wait for Android 2.2

I know this has been posted before but I don't know what to do. Root or wait for Android 2.2 on the Motorola Droid. All help is appreciated thanks.

we can't tell you what to do. I have a stock droid with launcherpro and love it.

whether you want to root or not is not up to us.

Launcherpro really changes the phone for me, it's a great tool.

If you want to really customize your phone, go ahead and root. But Launcherpro and the other apps make your phone completely different, so staying with the Android software is still good

I'd say go ahead and root it, if you do you'll most likely have 2.2 before everyone else thats stock does.

they've said it will be out within a couple weeks of release of 2.2, and there's already videos of 2.2 on the droid.

Honestly, i don't want to call out the new people or anything, but the tools are there... search, stickies, etc.

I know some are new to forum formats but really, it's all there. It's more work on the mods when they run into these kinds of threads every other day.

I'd love to root, but I'm too chicken. I consider myself a fairly tech-savvy person, but everytime I look into who to root it just seems so overwhelming.

I wouldn't hesitate to root if I really needed it to accomplish something. But I don't think getting 2.2 four weeks ahead of everyone else is a big enough reason to root. Personally I would rather wait the 4 weeks and be sure my warranty wasn't void.
