    Okay so I need to root my droid 1, but the problem is that my phone won't connect to my computer through the USB. I don't get any notification or nothing when I plug it in.

    Is there any way to root my phone without using a usb connection? I can use my SD card

    Thanks

    Your best bet would be figuring out why your computer and phone don't communicate. Check the drivers.

    It's actually probably more of a hardware issue. I have all the drivers. Verizon is actually sending me a replacement.

    The problem is that I have some data I really need in a folder I can't access (the data folder)

    Is there another way to access this folder?

    All you need to do is to get an adapter for your microSD card (should be available in the market at any electronic store, may be even at Walmart) and read the microSD from your Droid inserted in the adapter on any computer (computer must have a SDCard slot. if you have a newer computer of laptop there will be a reader slot in there otherwise you might have to buy one (again available at any store and also at Walmart)!!!

    Have fun then!!!!:icon_ banana::icon_ banana::icon_ banana:

    Also when you get the replacement from verizon you will keep the microSD card, back cover and the battery so there is no need to worry, you will be able to use the files after you get the replacement!! (verizon as a policy asks the microSD and battery to be kept while returning the device; at least that is what they did for my replacement!)

    I thought from the title that somebody had figured out how to do it.

    Same happened with my girl's phone. Try unmounting the SD card (settings -> SD card and phone storage -> unmount SD card). Take your battery off. Take out your SD card, put it back in, and restart phone. Her phone wasn't communicating at all with any computer. After taking these steps, it all works fine. I hope it works for you :)
