Okay - this is pretty much greek to me, but here is the issue thread:

Issue 8804 - android - wpa_supplicant 0.6.10 (froyo) unable to auth in a wpa2/enterpise wifi - Android - An Open Handset Alliance Project - Google Project Hosting

    Hope it helps.

EDIT: Just read a little through that thread and Comment 76 lists where the patched code is.

I am just recently starting to experience an issue with WiFi. If I set the WiFi to dynamically acquire an ip everything works fine but if I set it to use a static ip the dns fails. I can access websites using a static ip if I enter the ip address instead of the url of the website. Any ideas on why this is happening? Some of the hot spots I connect to do not support dynamic ip as dhcp is disabled on the router for security purposes; users are assigned a specific ip so that traffic can be monitored. My static ip was working earlier but today it has mysteriously stopped. I have this ROM on both my primary Droid and my secondary test-unit Droid. For the most part with the test-unit I had it set to dynamic but when I set it to static I'm seeing the same problem with WiFi. I dialed *#*#4636#*#* on my phone and ran the tests under WiFi status; in dynamic mode the ping tests pass, in static mode hostname fails. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Try removing the dns settings in /system/etc/resolv.conf and report back

The "My Verizon" app doesn't appear to work for me, not that I really care. It sits at the Verizon logo animated splash screen forever. Out of curiosity, has anyone else tried it on GPA14?

Regarding the Trillian problem, Pete - let us know if we can do anything to assist in troubleshooting this. Logs, test cases, whatever helps. Thanks.

    P.S.
My phone has never run this smooth and fast, I'm amazed. Using GPA14 with 1.25GHz LV V0.1 kernel and loving it.

My wifi won't authenticate either. Running GPA14 stable, 1.0GHz Pete kernel. :( Wifi worked fine in GPA13.

Running WPA/WPA2 encryption on my network.

Ok, I looked at the source and I do have the "patch" that was noted in that issue thread (makes sense because I use the latest source). The only difference I could see is that the FRG83G proprietary fw_wlan1271.bin is different then that used in CM so that may be the culprit. Flash this zip and let me know if it fixes it: http://wonderly.com/bb/DROID/UPDATE/EAP.zip (File also attached to this reply).

Check the GPA14 post on my website, at the bottom where it says "additional installation info"

Downloading now, but won't be able to test until I am at work tomorrow.

UPDATE: I applied the patch and it boot looped my Droid. Came up to lock screen, froze and back to M logo. Did this several times before I got into recovery and restored a backup system image.
