Its the new one that was just released last week i believe.
Got stuck on full wake this morning and drained the battery in 3 hours.
Battery stats say:
43% Phone idle
32% Cell standby
So what do people think of Pete's gingerbread build in general compared to some of the froyo builds out there? does GB offer anything over good ol' froyo?
Good question. For me, most of the appeal is having a newer interface. Otherwise, functionally, it's pretty much the same feature-set. Since I've locked Launcherpro into memory, and cleared the Dalvik cache, though, it sure seems pretty zippy. Usually Froyo needs a reboot every 4-5 days to get it smooth again, but Pete's GB is holding up well.
So i tried GPA 12 and it was laggy. i waited for 13 and installed it the other day, then flashed the 1G kernel as the stock was still a bit slow with screen redraws.
The new kernel ran smoothly, but i ran into a couple of issues that were mentioned on these threads-3g problems, lack of wi fi tether and the last thing was a problem answering a couple of calls. The screen locked and then the phone FC'ed. That's a deal breaker for me. A number of threads talked about memory allocation issues or something...but any uncertainty is too much for me as I have the droid primarily as a PHONE. Battery life was middlin' at best. With minimal use i was down to 20% by 3PM. I usually only run it down that quickly when i am traveling and using the droid exclusively for both email and phone.
I reinstalled BB6.2 today as I ran it for 2 months with very few problems. I had to switch to Barnacle from wi fi tether but it worked. Good luck!
Yes, it offers partial GPU acceleration in some tasks. That would result in smoother transitions, animations and rendering. The biggest real-world difference is probably the keyboard and the copy/paste cursors, though. They are a welcome addition.
By the way, GPA14 may be hitting soon because of the FRG83G Update.
What does a froyo ota update have to do with gingerbread? 0_o

It's in the link:
10-4 Makes sense now that I think about it, D1 specific patches. Thanks for clearing that up.

Problems answering calls, lag
Flashed GPA13 couple of days ago. No new kernal or anything. I've been having problems answering calls and the phone being laggy overall after about a day without a reboot.
Anyone have fixes or comments about this. Will his .6 SV kernal fix these issues?
So I got a second Droid 1 that I'm using as a test unit. So far GPA13 has been running beautifully on it and I'm slowly adding apps (since my primary Droid is loaded with apps) to give it a more "real world" trial. As of right now I have not experienced any major bugs (or any bugs at all for that matter) with GPA13. I have read that some people are having issues with making/receiving calls where the other party cannot hear them, unfortunately I am unable to test that myself since my test unit has not been activated. The only way I could possibly test it is to dial *611 and talk to a cricket operator and see if he/she can hear me. If any anomalies should arise from my testing I'll be sure to report them. Regardless, I give great acclamation to Pete for working so hard on the Gingerbread ROMs. With how "slow" Google has been at releasing an official version of Gingerbread for the Droid (if they have any plans to at all) I think they should consider hiring Mr. Alfonso.
